Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution Lawyer in Taguig and Bonifacio Global City

We handle commercial disputes for BGC and Taguig businesses before the Taguig courts and in arbitration — contract and service-level disputes, shareholder conflicts, injunctions, and enforcement of judgments and awards, including foreign ones.

BGC contracts frequently choose arbitration, sometimes seated outside the Philippines, which changes everything about how a dispute proceeds. Two consequences matter. Filing a court case in the face of a valid arbitration clause usually results in referral to arbitration and lost time. And a foreign arbitral award still needs to be recognised and enforced by a Philippine court before it reaches local assets — a step that is routine when handled properly and slow when it is not.

Frequently asked questions

Can a foreign arbitral award be enforced in the Philippines?

Yes. The Philippines recognises and enforces foreign arbitral awards through a petition to the Regional Trial Court, with limited grounds for refusal. It is a distinct proceeding from the arbitration itself.

Our contract has a foreign governing law. Does that work here?

A choice of foreign law is generally respected in commercial contracts, but foreign law must be pleaded and proven as fact in a Philippine court, which adds cost. Consider whether Philippine law would serve you better.

Can we get an injunction quickly?

A temporary restraining order followed by a preliminary injunction is possible where there is a clear right and urgent, irreparable injury. The standard is demanding and the application must be evidence-backed from the start.
