Intellectual Property

Protect the brands, content, and inventions that define your business.

Your trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets are often the most valuable assets your business owns — and the most vulnerable. We help clients secure rights with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), license and assign IP commercially, and enforce against infringers through administrative, civil, and criminal channels.

Services

How we work

1. Clearance: We search the register to ensure your mark is available and registrable.

2. Filing: We prepare and file with IPOPHL, then manage the prosecution to registration.

3. Portfolio: We maintain your renewals, declarations of use, and watch services.

4. Enforcement: We pursue infringers administratively, civilly, or criminally.

Frequently asked questions

How long does trademark registration take in the Philippines?

An uncontested trademark registers in 8 to 12 months from filing with IPOPHL. Office actions or third-party oppositions extend that timeline. We clear the mark first to reduce the risk of both.

Do I need to register copyright to be protected?

No — copyright arises automatically the moment a work is created. Registration with IPOPHL or the National Library is still recommended as evidence in enforcement actions, and we handle those filings.

What is a Declaration of Actual Use?

A Declaration of Actual Use is a filing proving your trademark is in genuine commercial use. It is due within three years from filing and again on renewals; missing it risks cancellation of the registration. We track and file these deadlines for clients.
