Tax Law Lawyer in Quezon City
We handle both sides of a Quezon City business's tax exposure: national assessments from the Bureau of Internal Revenue revenue district office covering your address, and local business tax and real property tax assessed by the Quezon City Treasurer.
A BIR examination follows a fixed sequence — letter of authority, notice of discrepancy, preliminary assessment notice, then the formal letter of demand and final assessment notice — and each stage has a deadline that, once missed, closes off the strongest defences. Local business tax works differently: it is assessed on gross receipts by the city, and disputes usually turn on classification and on the situs rules that allocate sales between a head office and branches. We handle both, and we would rather be engaged at the letter of authority stage than after the final notice.

Frequently asked questions
We received a BIR letter of authority. What should we do first?
Verify that the letter is valid and properly served, confirm the taxable periods and taxes covered, and control the flow of documents. Handing over everything without review is how small issues become large assessments.
How long do we have to protest a BIR assessment?
The protest deadlines are short and counted from receipt of each notice. Missing one can make the assessment final and executory regardless of its merits, so the dates on the notices matter as much as the figures.
Can Quezon City business tax be challenged?
Yes. Protests against a local business tax assessment are filed with the City Treasurer within the period set by the Local Government Code, and may be elevated to court. Situs and gross receipts classification are the most common grounds.
