Labor & Employment Law Lawyer in Bulacan

We advise Bulacan employers — factories, warehouses, logistics operators, and family businesses — before the NLRC regional arbitration branch covering Central Luzon and at Department of Labor and Employment proceedings, on dismissal, money claims, contracting, and compliance.

Family-run Bulacan businesses tend to carry informal employment practices: no written contracts, relatives on the payroll without defined roles, cash wages, and discipline handled by conversation rather than notice. None of that is fatal by itself, but it removes every defence when a case is filed, because the employer carries the burden of proving that a dismissal was justified and that wages and benefits were actually paid. The fix is inexpensive and preventive — contracts, payslips, and a written disciplinary procedure.

Frequently asked questions

We have no written employment contracts. Is that a problem?

It does not invalidate the employment, but it makes disputes far harder to defend. Absent records, doubts are generally resolved in favour of the employee, so the paperwork protects the employer more than the worker.

Can we dismiss an employee who is also a relative?

The same rules apply: a just or authorized cause and the two-notice process. Family relationships do not change the legal standard, and they often make the dispute more bitter, so the procedure matters more, not less.

What records should we keep?

Employment contracts, payroll and payslips, daily time records, leave records, and copies of every notice issued. Keep them for the full prescriptive period of possible claims.
